Asset Management
The Authority actively manages it's land and building stock. The Asset Management Plan forms an integral part of the Authority's overall policy linking with the main ten yearCommunityStrategy
Geoff Trantham is the Council's >Corporate Property Officer (CPO). The remit of this role has been approved by the Policy Committee (5th June 2000) and is in line with Good Practice Guidelines issued in March 2000 by the then Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions.
Our Asset Management Plan sets out how the Authority:
- Maintains and protects the fabric of the Council's valuable capital building and land assets in a way that contributes to a continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Safeguards and protects the Borough's historic, listed and other buildings of value and its conservation areas.
The Asset Management Plan is designed to be read in conjunction with the Capital Strategy and Core Data Sheet.
Officer Asset Management Group (OAMG)
The function of Asset Management has to be owned corporately by user departments. To encourage this the Officer Asset Management Group has been formed with a membership that provides it a strategic focus. This is a link to the current members.
The remit of the group was approved at the Council's Policy Committee of the 5th June 2000. These aims are in line with the CorporatePlan. It's main objectives are;
- To ensure the implications of property issues are enshrined and adopted within policy and project development.
- To ensure that the Council's operational assets perform in a way that meets the needs of the service users.
- To ensure that the capital and revenue expenditure on the portfolio of assets is directed efficiently to provide value for money.
- Establish support information for Comprehensive Performance Assessment and to comment on the implications of property issues.
- To report annually to Cabinet.
All matters relating to corporate property issues including Acquistions and Disposals, Maintenance Priorities andCapital Programme are considered by the group.
