Supplementary Planning Guidance

Supplementary Planning Guidance expands or adds details to policies laid out in the Local Plan. Supplementary Planning Guidance can be used by Development Control officers as a material consideration when deciding on a planning application.

Current Supplementary Planning Guidance:

• Hot Food Takeaways (January 2002)
• Provision of Recreational Open Space Within Residential Development (October 2002)
• Shop Fronts and Advertisements (June 2002)

Under the new Local Development Framework system, Supplementary Planning Guidance will no longer be produced. This function will be replaced by Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) which have statutory status but are not part of the statutory development plan.
