Interim Affordable Housing Policy

Since 2000, much has happened with regard to the issue of affordable housing, with increasing priority being given to the affordable housing issue nationally and new emerging Government planning policy guidance, set against a background of a rapid escalation of housing prices locally.

Having regard to this increasing priority: Local Plan Policies HS7: Exceptions Housing Schemes and Policy HS8: Affordable Housing Within New Housing Developments were amended in July 2005.

 

Adopted Interim Affordable Housing Policies

The amended policies were adopted by Council at the meeting held on 25 July 2005.

A consultation period for the draft Interim Affordable Housing Policies ran from 13 May 2005 ending at 4.30pm on 17 June 2005. Following consideration of the consultation responses, amendments were made to these policies at the Cabinet meeting of 27 June 2005 which may be viewed under Item 7.

Please note, the Supplementary Planning Guidance on the "Provision of Affordable Housing Within Residential Development" has subsequently been withdrawn.
