Historic Buildings Grant

Historic Buildings Grant scheme is provided by the Borough Council and a 40% contribution, up to a maximum of £5,000 per application can be offered towards the eligible expense of approved repairs to the structure and the fabric of buildings of historic and architectural interest (Listed) in the rural area of the Borough, outside the Town Centre Conservation Area.

Works normally eligible to receive grant aid include: Structural repairs, such as underpinning, repairs to the roof structure, re-roofing, rainwater goods, external joinery, chimneys, walls, floors, damp proofing and timber treatment.

Reinstatement works are also eligible to receive grant; in such cases there must be clear evidence of the original feature to be re-instated, in order to be considered for grant aid.
