Conservation Area Enhancement Grants

Funds for this scheme are provided by the Borough Council and a 40% contribution, up to a maximum of £3,000 per application can be offered towards the repair and enhancement  of unlisted buildings or structures that are of architectural  or historic interest, or make a contribution to the historic environment. The type of projects which may be eligible under the scheme are:

• The repair and restoration of architectural features of prominent buildings, for example, the roof or external joinery and also free standing structures, such as waterpumps, summerhouses etc
• The renewal or introduction of paving schemes and landscaping, for example around a public building.
• The replacement of existing or the erection of new items such as Parish notice boards, dovecotes, village clocks, fountains, sundials, seats etc

Priority will be given to

• Properties within the Conservation areas
• Properties covered by Article 4 and 4(2) Directions restricting the installation and replacement of windows, doors, porches and front garden walls.
