Verges

Within our Borough areas next to a highway or public footpath in the majority of cases form part of the highway and are managed by Shropshire County Council, Divisional Surveyors Office at Longden Road Telephone 253200.

Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council act as contractors undertaking grounds maintenance duties which include grass cutting, weed control around obstacles, hedges and tree maintenance.

Urban Areas Only

Grass cutting operations are undertaken to the amenity standard as detailed on our grass cutting page.

Weed control of obstacles including service covers etc.  Three applications are received between April to October subject to climatic conditions using a glyphosate based weedkiller.
