How do I find out if the Council own a piece of land?
If you want to find out if the Council own a particular piece of land in the Borough, please contact the Legal section. You will need to provide a plan and description of the area.
If you are able to email a plan of the area, please send this to maria.walker@shrewsbury.gov.uk. If you are not able to email the plan, please send it throught the post.
Please note that the Council can only deal with queries in relation to land that it owns. If we do not own the land, you will need to contact the Land Registry for further assistance.
I would like a copy of a plan or property deed which is in the possession of the Council. Can I obtain a copy and will I be charged a fee?
The Council maintain a secure storage facility for deeds and plans relating to land owned or leased by the Council. Any request for copies of such documents should be made in writing. The request should clearly identify the document sought and give as much detail as possible (e.g. the property address, any reference numbers, parties to the deed, date of the document etc). The request should be addressed to Maria Walker, Practice Manager at:

Alternatively, you may contact Maria by email: maria.walker@shrewsbury.gov.uk. Where copies are provided a fee will be payable for administrative and copying charges.
