Shrewsbury Furniture Scheme

The Shrewsbury furniture scheme is a registered charity. They collect unwanted items for redistribution to those in need. Last year they saved more than 100 Tonnes of materials from landfill.

They aim to

• To enable residents in need to be assisted through the sale of low cost household items
• To reduce household items being sent to landfill

They will collect

• Furniture
• Electrical items
• Cutlery and Crockery
• Cookware
• Household Linen

Items need to be in good and working condition. For soft furnishing items they need to have the relevant fire safety labels, usually these are displayed somewhere on the article.

So next time you're having a spring clean or emptying out the contents of your cluttered garage, have a look to see if there is anything that could be recycled and put to use elsewhere.

The Scheme is part of the Shropshire household furniture recycling partnership (SHOFUR) and the national Furniture Reuse Network.

All items are collected and delivered for customers within the Shrewsbury and Atcham area free of charge.
