Sports Development is committed to improving the number and quality of qualified coaches and officials in the borough to help support and develop the work of Shrewsbury Leisure and to strengthen coaching within Shrewsbury.

What we can offer you:

Coaches Database

We have set up a database where you can register with us, just tell us your needs and we will help. You may be a volunteer in a club who wants to gain a coaching qualification, you may already be qualified but want to take it a step further. We will take details of the courses you are interested in and contact you when opportunities arise.

Employment Opportunities

There are several opportunities to gain paid coaching work from Shrewsbury Leisure and Shropshire Sports Partnership. The majority of work is directly after school but some occurs in evenings, weekends and holiday periods.

Coach Education and Development Courses

We have information regarding coach education and other related courses (umpires, child protection etc). For a list of courses, go to www.shropshiresport.org.uk. Shrewsbury Leisure will be able to advise you of any funding avenues to subsidise these courses.
