School Sites

The great thing about this scheme is that schools are provided with qualified coaching staff, ensuring that teachers do not get overloaded, but most importantly increasing participation opportunities for the children as activities are based at school sites.

To assist with the implementation of this programme, sports development has divided the Shrewsbury primary schools into three groups (clusters); North, South and Rural Shrewsbury.

All schools have the opportunity to access three sports throughout the year, Hockey, Tag Rugby and Basketball. Each school cluster will receive 5/6 weeks coaching in their allocated sports and then get the opportunity to play in a friendly festival against the other participating schools. The children will then be encouraged to continue the activity at a local club.

Please note that only children from participating schools can attend the sessions on school sites.
