What's Available from Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council
Will all information be available?
This Publication Scheme lists information which we either have made a commitment to make available or are required to do so. Our aim is to make information available whenever we can legally do so, except where we consider release would cause significant harm - for example, to national security, or our ability to enforce the law. In such cases, we will withhold information under an appropriate exemption in the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information or the Environmental Information Regulations 1992. We must also comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and respect the privacy of individuals.
In some instances you will find documents made available under this Publication Scheme will have gaps in the text. This is because the information would cause significant harm if released and falls within an exemption. Where this is the case the document will be clearly marked to show where information has been removed and the exemption used. If you wish to complain about the use of an exemption see complaints procedure.

Are there any charges for supplying information?
Any charges for information made available are set out in the Scheme.
If you request information not available under the Scheme, our aim is to make as much as possible available to you free of charge. However, where it takes a considerable amount of time to gather or prepare the information you want we will charge for that work. If your request does attract any charges we will ask whether you wish to continue with the request before we undertake the work. VAT is not charged. The charges given below are subject to regular review.
Charging criteria for information contained in this Publication Scheme
1. Information provided free

Information on our standards of service, costs, targets and results. It also includes access to registers held on the Internet, answering telephone queries, providing copies of free leaflets, inspection of remaining public registers at Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council.
2. Information where we will charge only photocopying costs, postage and administration
This includes information which has already been prepared and all that is necessary to reproduce it for someone is to photocopy it or provide a computer printout (where no significant programming time is needed). It includes copies of entries in the public registers and copies of internal guidance and instructions. The current charges are:
10p per page plus administration (currently £2.00 for the first page and 10p per page thereafter) plus any postage incurred.
Where the information is already available in a priced publication we will give you details of the publication, charge and where to get it. A priced publication is one which has the words 'publication price' in the charge column of the publication scheme.
