The Parish lies on the eastern extremity of the Borough and lies equidistant between Shrewsbury and Wellington, in Wrekin District. Lying in the heart of the Shropshire plain, Withington is a small rural Parish.

 

Withington village is unique in that its character remains unspoiled due to its somewhat "isolated" situation, yet remains within easy access of all neighbouring towns. The village has numerous old buildings of interest. Its church, although rebuilt in the late 19th century, has a history of worship dating back to the 12th century. The village also has a public house.

 

Due to narrow roads and the peaceful nature of the village the present Parish Council firmly believes that development must be strictly limited to individual plots if necessary outside the present village limits and not of an "infill" nature.
