Uffington is a rural parish bordered on the west by the River Severn, on the east by Haughmond Hill, and divided by the B5062 Newport Road. The main settlement of Uffington is off this road, about one and a half kms from the Sundorne area of Shrewsbury. It has a church, The Corbett Arms public house with its active bowls club, and the village hall where a Playgroup and Ladies Club meet regularly. Ebury Hill Camp Site, Haughmond Abbey, and Shrewsbury Rugby Club are also within its boundaries. The eastern part of the parish lies within an Area of Special Landscape Character (no longer a local plan designation).
