This rural Parish has developed carefully over the years to ensure the design and character of the area is satisfactorily retained. The Parish features a network of public footpaths, a country park, many interesting buildings and unspoilt areas of tranquillity.

Whilst retaining the best of the past, the Parish Council believes that future development must be guided to improving existing residential stock and permitting limited new development to satisfy rural needs. Special consideration must be given to redundant sites. If evidence exists of a dwelling, a new dwelling should be permitted on that site. This revitalisation of these small, abandoned areas will produce the links between settlements and reduce the need for more "greenfield" development.
