A large rural Parish North of Shrewsbury with dairy and mixed arable farms. South is the Berwick Estate and Shrewsbury, and to the north of the Parish is Merrington.

The parish covers approximately 6 miles from East to West. Bordering with the A49 and Shrewsbury-Crewe railway line in the East, to Bank House Grafton and the Rivers Severn and Perry, in the West.

It extends 5 miles from Gravelhill Lane in the South, to the boundary with North Shropshire District at a point North of Merrington Lane Farm.

 

The parish boundary coincides with Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council's Pimhill Ward.

 

The main village of Bomere Heath, with the largest population, lies centrally within the parish and with its Village Store, Post Office, Hairdressers, Fish and Chip Shop, and public house

The village is linked by a country bus route to Shrewsbury and Oswestry and has one of the two primary schools in the Parish.

The Parish Council is split into five Wards, namely:

• Albrighton Ward - 1 Representative on Parish Council
• Bomere Heath Ward - 6 Representatives on Parish Council
• Fitz Ward - 2 Representatives on Parish Council
• Leaton Ward - 2 Representatives on Parish Council
• Preston Gubbals Ward - 2 Representatives on Parish Council
