The Parish consists of the Conservation Area village of Astley itself and settlements of Upper Astley, Upper Battlefield, Ebreywood and Bings Heath. The only housing development in recent years has been at Astley Court on the site of The Firs farm buildings in Astley.

The only community facilities are the church and village hall in Astley and The Dog in the Lane public house at Upper Astley.

Employment is mainly restricted to agriculture but there are some small workshops in Astley and Bings Heath and some large industrial sites on the A53.

Residents welcomed a weight restriction recently introduced on the Parish minor roads but are still concerned about the speed and volume of traffic on the A49 and A53.
