The Parish consists mainly of four villages; Leighton, Eaton Constantine, Garmston and Upper Longwood, all without local services such as a post office or shop. Leighton lies on the B4380 between Ironbridge and Wroxeter. Garmston and Eaton Constantine lie just north of this road, with Upper Longwood beyond Eaton on an unclassified road to Wellington.

 

Apart from Upper Longwood, the other three villages have been subject to some development in recent years. Both Eaton Constantine and Leighton have had small new estates built on designated housing sites, whilst Garmston has seen much conversion of farm buildings into housing. Upper Longwood consists mainly of Raby Estate or ex-Raby Estate housing.

 

The Parish Council believes that further building in any of the villages is considered undesirable, so that integration of the recent additional development can take place. Water and sewerage services are already under strain in some parts of the Parish.
