The fourth ‘Teenage Kicks’ festival will be held in the Quarry in Shrewsbury on the 30th of June 2007 between 12:00 midday and 7.00pm. Entry is Free.
Organised by Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council’s Community Regeneration Team, in partnership with the Youth Service, Belmont Arts and New Roots, Connexions, Through the Doorway to Healthy Living and other agencies. This free festival will be showcasing some of Shropshire’s best local musical talent as well as providing other exciting activities.
In previous years the festival has been well received with audience numbersreaching the thousands. This year the event will include live music, DJs, media, dance, sport, games, health and drugs information, semi-permanent tattooing and much more.
As with the last three festivals there will be the ever-popular graffiti board, break dancing displays and bouncy castles.
The ‘Buzz’ will once again be taking part in the festival giving young musicians the opportunity to record their own demo. Groups interested in a slot on the ‘Buzz’ should arrive in plenty of time.
Other activities will include a table top football tournament, football goal shoot competition, banner making, healthy food tasting sessions and treasure hunt, face painting and semi-permanent tattooing.
The Community Regeneration Team is keen to support young people in all kinds of entrepreneurial ventures and its aim has always been to show how young people contribute positively to the county. ‘Teenage Kicks’ is one of few venues that offers young people an opportunity to showcase their music.
