Organisers of the Shrewsbury Summer Season have announced the programme for 2008 with a host of events to entertain and inform from May to September.
Press are invited to attend the season launch event at the Lion Hotel on Thursday 8th of May at 4.00 p.m.
This year's highlights include concerts by Katie Melua, the Bootleg Beatles and there's a real treat for fans of the Eighties when local pop heroes T'Pau share the billing with the likes of Heaven 17, Nick Heyward and Toyah.
Classical Music and the Arts are also well represented and tenor Willard White returns by popular demand.
Shrewsbury Folk Festival and the Shrewsbury International Street Theatre Festival are two of the major events that will help bring fun and music to the town's historic streets.
Speaking about the programme, chair of the Summer Season steering group John Moore said:
"We've built our reputation on variety and quality and this year's programme certainly reflects that. In the Shrewsbury Summer Season, Shropshire has an event to be proud of. We hope to be able to maintain the standard in future years for residents and visitors alike."
