From 6th April 2008 the Government has revised the planning application fees.
The fees are to be increased for all applications and come into affect on and after the 6th April 2008.

Scale of Fees
Applicable from 6th April 2008
Outline Applications (most types) -
(i) Site area up to 2.5 ha -£335 per 0.1 has (or part thereof site area)
(ii) over 2.5 ha - £8,285 plus £100 per 0.1 ha (over 2.5 ha) to a max. of £125,000
Full and Reserved Matters Applications
Alterations etc., to existing dwellings (outline applications also), incl. Free Standing buildings, gates fences, walls on boundary - £150 per dwellinghouse. Works to 2 or more dwellings - Max. £295
Erection of dwellings - 50 or less - £335 per dwelling. Over 50 - £16,565 plus £100 per dwelling (over 50) Max £125,000
Erection of buildings other than dwellings, glasshouses or plant and machinery or agricultural buildings. Works not creating any or more than 40 sq. m. of additional floor space - £170. More than 40 sq. m. but not more than 75.sq m. of additional floorspace - £335. More than 75 sq. m. but not more than 3750 sq. m. - £335 for each 75 sq. m. More than 3750 sq. m.- £16,565 plus £100 for each 75 sq. m. in excess. Max. £250,000
Erection, alteration or replacement of plant and machinery -Site area 5 ha or less - £335 per 0.1 ha. Site over 5 ha - £16,565 plus £100 per 0.1 ha. Max. £250,000
Approval of reserved matters where flat rate (below) does not apply - A fee based on floor space/numbers of dwellinghouses involved
Erection of glasshouses on land for purposes of agriculture - Up to 465 sq. m - £70, over 465 sq. m - £1,870
Erection of agricultural buildings on land for purposes of agriculture - Up to 465 sq. m - £70, over 465 sq. m, but less than 540 sq. m - £335. Over 540 sq. m but less than 4215 sq. m. - £335 for first 540sq. m. and additional - £335 for each 75sq. m. in excess. Over 4215sq. m. - £16,565 plus £100 per 75 sq. m. Max £250,000.
Concessionary Fees and Exemptions
Works to improve a disabled person's access to a public building, or to improve his/her access, safety, health or comfort at his/her dwellinghouse - No Fee.
Applications by Parish etc. Councils (advert applications also) - Half the Normal Fee
Applications required because of the removal of permitted development rights by a condition or by an Article 4 direction - No Fee
Playing fields (for sports clubs etc.) - £335
Revised or fresh applications for development (or advertisement) of the same character or description within 12 months or refusal, or of the marking of the earlier application if withdrawn, or within 12 months of expiry of the statutory 8 weeks period where the applicant has appealed to the Secretary of State on the grounds of non-determination - No Fee
Revised or fresh applications for development of the same character or description within 12 months of receiving permission - No Fee
Duplicate applications made by the same applicant within 28 days - Normal Fee
Alternative applications for one site - Highest of fees applicable for each alternative and a sum equal to half the rest
Development crossing planning authority boundaries, requiring several applications - Only one fee, paid to the authority having the larger site but calculated for the whole shceme, and subject to special ceiling
Reserved matters where applicant's earlier reserved matters applications have incurred total fees equalling that of a full application for entire scheme - £335
Other Applications
Exploratory drilling site area 7.5 ha or less - £335 per 0.1 ha. site area over 7.5 ha - £2,500 plus £100 per 0.1 ha to a Max. £250,000
Winning, working, storage of minerals etc., and Waste Disposal - Site area 15 ha or less - £170 per 0.1 ha. Site area over 15 ha - £25,315 plus £100 per 0.1 ha to a Max. £65,000
Car parks, service roads or other accesses for single undertakings - £170 (existing uses only)
Other operations on land - £170 per 0.1 ha (or part thereof) of site area. Max £250,000
For non-compliance with conditions, including retention of temporary buildings and seeking to re-new unimplemented planning permission - £170
Change of use to or sub division of dwellings - £335 per additional dwelling created. Over 50 dwellings £16,565 plus £100 per dwelling Max. £50,000
Other changes of use except Waste or Minerals - £335.
Applications relating to Siting, Design and External Appearance of Agricultural and Forestry buildings and siting and means of construction of private ways (prior determination) - £50
Installation of radio equipment housing over 2 cubic metres and public call boxes (prior determination) - £50
Erection of Telecommunication Masts - £265
Certificates of Lawful Use - A fee is payable but please contact Planning Services - Development Control for further information.

Relating to the business on the premises - £95
Advanced signs directing the public to a business - £95
Other Advertisements - £335
Compliance with the Condition Attached to a Planning Permission
Householder Development - £25 for each request
Other Development - £85 for each request
