Criminal Damage Conviction

Shrewsbury resident Mr Luke MEDLICOTT of  Ford, Shrewsbury has been prosecuted at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court for Criminal Damage.

The offence was for causing damage to a CCTV camera, which was located in the Raven Meadows Bus Station.

Assistant Council Manager Andy Goldsmith stated

‘I am pleased that the Courts have responded positively to the irresponsible and criminal behaviour of this individual.  This reinforces the massage that Shrewsbury and Action Borough Council will work alongside the Police to take action against those people who criminally damage public property and potentially put other people at risk.’

The case was heard on the 28th of February 2008 where Mr Medlicott was ordered to pay compensation of £1150.00 to SABC and is also prohibited from loitering in the Bus Station unless he is a fare-paying passenger.
