Shrewsbury Community Sports Network organised a free family fun day and Sport relief mile event on Sunday 16th March 10 am - 4 pm, the event was a great success with over 630 people attending. The event offered many different activities that people could take part in including, the sport relief mile, badminton, table tennis, basketball, trampolining, climbing/bouldering, circuits and many more of their choice. The event was only made possible due to the financial contribution made by the Shrewsbury Community Sports Network via the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin County Sports Partnership.
The family fun day attracted 308 people, one of the main purposes of the family event was to provide people with information and advice on how to take part in sport and active recreation more often.
The sport relief mile attracted 327 people ranging from serious runner’s, fun runner’s dressed in fancy dress and first time runner’s.

“ the event attracted many people taking part in one or both of the events throughout the day. It was good to see so many people trying different activities and enquiring about where they can take part in these activities on a regular basis. All money donated for the sport relief event will make a great difference to children suffering from hardship and poverty, many thanks for all your donations”
