What is ParkRight?
The 1991 Road Traffic Act allowed local councils to take over parking enforcement from the Police. Shropshire Councils decided to do this. They joined together to form a partnership called ParkRight to enforce parking regulations throughout the county.

From 31 March 2008, there is a change from Decriminalised Parking Enforcement to Civil Parking Enforcement through the introduction of the Traffic Management Act 2004. This Act expands the range of contraventions that can be managed and is being introduced throughout England and Wales. Legally speaking, Parking Attendants will be known as Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs - Parking). The Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA 2004) takes over from the Road Traffic Act 1991. There is more information on these changes here.
ParkRight Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) are able to do more than just enforce parking regulations. They are available to give advice on where to park, assist with general directions and generally encourage responsible parking.
Why Enforce? Parking enforcement benefits all those who live in, work in, or visit Shropshire. It helps to ease traffic congestion in our towns and reduce the level of dangerous and inconsiderate parking throughout the County.
At the same time it supports local businesses in town and village centres and improves road safety particularly around schools.
Keeping roads clear of illegally parked vehicles means improved safety for all road users and enables delivery vehicles, buses and the emergency services to get to their destinations more speedily.
Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) are the eyes and ears of the Councils on the street and can report highway faults such as pot holes or faulty street lights as well as reporting instances of dumped rubbish (flytipping).
You can find out general information about parking provision offered by each Council by visiting their own websites by clicking on the logos above.
