      SABC Mapping Services

      Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council is now a satellite Mapping and Data Centre for the Ordnance Survey. This enables us to provide a comprehensive, UK wide mapping service to the public, available at the Guildhall.

      What we are able to supply

      Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council can now supply maps for any reason and not just for accompanying formal Planning and Building Control applications. The Mapping Service is UK wide therefore we can supply a map of your property, a map of an area that you are visiting, or a rural map.

      All mapping is produced onsite and you can view the map before it is printed, ensuring that you receive the correct area for your requirements.

      SABC has a direct link with the Ordnance Survey computers enabling us to provide the very latest mapping available at a competitive cost.

      As you can see there is a difference between rural and urban costs at some scales. Ordnance Survey charge Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council a fee for printing the maps, and as urban areas contain more information we are charged a higher fee. However, we have kept our charges as low as possible.

      In the future we will be providing a digital service offering TIFF and DXF data emailed direct to customers.

      How to buy a map

      Orders can be placed in person at the Guildhall reception area and in the following ways: 

      Maps ordered in advance can be collected from the Guildhall reception or posted out. Please see our opening hours.
