Commercial Hanging Baskets

Blooming Baskets!

A key element of the town's floral image is the use of hanging baskets. SABC produces these for its various public buildings, but also grows large numbers for sale at competitive rates to the commercial sector.

Stan Sedman, Chairman of the Shrewsbury in Bloom Committee said:

"Hanging baskets are a great way of enhancing the town for visitors and residents and work out at only £2.50 each a week. Baskets are installed during the first two weeks of June and will be just one of the many initiatives taking place to ensure that the county town looks its best, and for the judging of the town for the national RHS Britain in Britain Competition. The baskets are a real bargain at £39.95 because VAT, delivery, regular watering and maintenance throughout the summer season, and eventual removal at the end of the season is included. We have been busy growing the many plants and flowers needed for the baskets and we are anticipating successful sales of hanging baskets to local businesses to make Shrewsbury look fantastic this summer."

Further information can be obtained from Gary Farmer on (01743) 281151.

Stan Sedman continued:

"Shrewsbury in Bloom has proved to be a highly successful partnership between local residents, the business community, the Council and various agencies. It's developed the 'Town of Flowers' image - one of our greatest assets, and this year I would like to ask everyone for their support in making the town a better place to live, visit, work and do business, and particularly to ensure we win the RHS Britain in Bloom national competition which will bring great benefits for the town"

Baskets are usually installed in the first two weeks of June but limited stocks may be available throughout the summer season. Businesses without brackets can have them provided and fitted free of charge (restrictions apply).
