Countryside Access

The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 created a new right to walk over areas of open countryside and registered common land.  The Act has given people the right to walk, responsibly and subject to some common sense restrictions, over areas of open countryside and registered common land in England and Wales.

Countryside Access in Shropshire

Shropshire County Council have a Countryside Service that is responsible for managing countryside heritage sites, 5,500 kilometres of public rights of way, and also for working with local communities and the general public regarding countryside matters.
