We are looking for an experienced Catering Manager to join our team. The initial focus of the job will be opening the brand new café facility based at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, due to open in Feb 09. As well as the responsibility of running the café, you will be in charge of all function & hospitality catering. You will be involved in appointing, and then managing a team of catering staff. This is a very hands on role, combining kitchen duties with a strong administrative role. It is also a post that offers the opportunity for flair and imagination in developing new ideas in conjunction with the buildings performance functions and other Theatre Services facilities.
Ideally you will hold the Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate, you will be required to maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, personal hygiene and personable customer service. There will also be the requirement to fulfil an occasional duty management role.
This is a full time permanent post. The salary will be in the range £18,907 - £20,736 per annum (pay award pending), working 37 hours per week. It requires a very flexible approach to working hours, to include evenings, bank holidays, weekends and the very busy Christmas period. You must have experience in dealing with the public and an ability to work effectively under pressure.
