Keep Shropshire Warm
All the councils in Shropshire, including Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council have been successful in securing over £165, 000 for marketing home energy conservation. This is being spent on developing an innovative project which offers residents access to low cost insulation, helping them improve their homes, reduce heating bills and tackle climate change. The project aims to reinforce the links between housing, health and the environment by facilitating high level partnership working to deliver a more joined up approach to fuel poverty in the region. Through delivering energy advice training for health care professionals and targeted markering in the health, benefits and leisure sectors, it is hope that we can increase benefit up take, raise energy awareness and improve housing, so that everyone can afford to heat their home in an environmentally sustainable manner. The project is being delivered by all Shropshire Councils, working in partnership with the Shropshire Energy Advice Centre and is project managed by local charity Marches Energy Agency.
