Pest Control

Our pest control team provide a treatment service and assists with enforcement of public health legislation.

Services are available to residents of the Borough of Shrewsbury and Atcham - some services are free and some are chargeable.

We provide a treatment service for all businesses including providing a contract service which focuses on prevention.

We provide free identification advice and information service regarding pests.

The Pest Control Service which is part of the Environmental Health Service can give advice on the best way of controlling pests.

The Borough Council charges for all the services used by commercial premises and farms.

We assist other officers in giving specialist advice in particular in environmental control work to ensure that public health legislation is enforced.

Our work compliments services provided by other council departments such as food safety, public health nuisance, cleansing, parking and grounds maintenance.

We co-ordinate our work on the eradication of rats with Severn Trent who are responsible for the treatment of rats in sewers.
