The Council's Environmental Health service is the enforcing authority for safety in a wide variety of workplaces including:

• DIY stores
• Tyre and exhaust centres
• Builders merchants and warehouses.

The Health and Safety Executive deals with safety in factory type premises where goods are made, manufactured and altered.
