- It cannot be used for revenue in terms of ongoing maintenance, eg maintenance of equipment/open spaces
- It cannot be used to offset other promised funding
Other information
- The Council is usually unable to award the grant until the work applied for has been carried out to the Council's satisfaction, ie to budget and to specification. If applicants anticipate or experience any difficulties, they should contact the case officer for the application as soon as possible. Council officers will normally inspect the work for which grants have been paid.
- If your project involves the construction, repair or extension of a building or the installation of equipment, eg slides, swings, teenage shelters etc, a specification of the work is required (in some cases a retailer's or contractor's brochure may be sufficient). A simple plan showing the layout and location of the work is also required
- In some cases, work may require planning permission or building regulations permission (in which case, the Development Services Department will be happy to advise applicants: telephone 01743 281312). A fee may be required for such consents. You will also need the landowner's consent if you do not own the land
- Any unrecoverable VAT which you will incur on the project should be identified and included in your application. However, if your organisation is VAT registered and is able to recover VAT incurred on the project from Customs and Excise, then VAT should be excluded from your application.
