Teenage Kicks '06

Saturday 1st July 2006, in the Quarry, Shrewsbury
Now in its third year, Teenage Kicks is once again in The Quarry on Saturday 1st July 2006. 12:00midday - 7:00pm. Free entry. All welcome - come along and enjoy the atmosphere.
As usual the event offers a fantastic opportunity for young bands to play to a wide audience and this year we are especially pleased to welcome new to the event Smokin' Tequila and returning bands Polarian and SABAKA. Steve Cunningham, Community Regeneration Manager says that "this year once again we have had a brilliant response from young people wanting to perform on the day and help run the stage and we are very pleased to be able to offer them this opportunity to perform".
A brilliant organisation called 'the Buzz' will be on hand to help bands record their material and produce a demo on the day. If you or your band are interested in a recording session please contact Nicola Fisher on 01743 281141 - But hurry as sessions are limited.
There will be dance performances from Border Dance and Uptown Girlz and Belly Dancing demonstrations and workshops by Bedouin Shiver. It will also be possible for you to make your own belly-dancing outfit before having a go in the recycled vintage clothing tent.
We also have a wonderfully strong football theme with football skills, five-a-side and a table top football World Cup knock out competition all on offer. Prizes that can be won include a football signed by Sir Trevor Brooking and Jack Charlton.
