The Match report - 'Kick it Out'

The National kick racism out of football campaign, 'Kick it Out' was very successful with over 10 different activities taking place in 12 days of action.

One of the highlights being the 'The Match' between Shropshire County Council, the Police and Shrewsbury & Atcham Borough Council.  SABC and SCC were led by their respective Chief Executive's and the Police by a Chief Inspector.

The Match was played in good spirit with SABC fielding some very good players (Leisure Services). We soundly thrashed the Police 3-2 with goals from Alex Williams, Robin Hooper and Steve Cunningham. However, we were beaten 4-2 by SCC with  2 spectacular goals coming from Nick Wood (Housing) 1 for SABC and 1 (own goal) for SCC.

The match was well supported and there are already plans to make next year's 'Kick it Out' week even bigger and better.
