Application Forms - 1APP

From 6th April 2008, the new national standard planning application form (1APP) replaced all existing types of planning application forms (except applications for minerals) within England, and is the only legal way of submitting a planning application.
The 1APP form is far easier to complete online than on paper, and the Council advises that applications are made online.
Printable versions are available from the Planning Portal website, and the Council can provide paper copies on request.

Planning Portal
Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council recommends that all planning applications be made through the Planning Portal.

Do I need planning Permission?

If you are thinking about modifying or extending your property, or even building something new, then you might need planning permission. The Council can advise you whether you will need permission, and what sort of applications you will need to make.

Applying for Planning Permission

We recommend that you apply through the Planning Portal you can fill in and submit the forms and drawings online, you can also pay the fees online.  It saves time and is more accurate, and is kinder to the environment (a typical paper application is made up of the equivalent of 140 A4 sheets of paper)

Alternatively, you can request paper forms via planningdevelopmentcontrol@shrewsbury.gov.uk or 01743 281326;
or you can download the forms from the Planning Portal website.
