SHREWSBURY & ATCHAM CORE STRATEGY WITHDRAWAL
In June 2006, Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council published a Submission Core Strategy, setting out the Spatial Vision, Strategic Objectives and Core Policies for the Borough. The Core Strategy was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination, with a six week period allowed for representations to be made with regard to the document. The main issues arising from these representations have now been summarised.
Following consideration of the representations made and further guidance received on soundness of Core Strategies, the Borough Council decided that it wished to do further work in order to ensure soundness of its Core Strategy. As a result, the Council withdrew the Core Strategy. Please click on the icon below for the Notice of the Withdrawal.

NEXT STEPS...
Further work on the evidence base was undertaken during 2007. The decision to create a Unitary Council for Shropshire means that the Shrewsbury and Atcham Core Strategy will not proceed further.
All work to date will be input into the Local Development Framework for the new Unitary Council. Work on a Unitary Council's Core Strategy commenced in March 2008.
