Exeter Benchmarking Club

Since 2000 Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council have been a member of the Exeter Benchmarking Club.

Benchmarking clubs enable a number of authorities, often with similar local population profiles, to compare a range of service data processes, and to share information in an atmosphere of trust.

The Exeter Benchmarking Club is made up of a number of Councils which are broadly similar to Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council in terms of size, responsibility and local demographics.

This group is often used as the basis for making comparisons to see how Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council's performance matches up against other similar councils. The Exeter Benchmarking Club comparisons can be viewed in Annex B below.

General Household Survey

Services provided by the Council have a direct effect on the quality of life of local residents. It is therefore important that performance management measures address levels of satisfaction within these services.  Thus a number of 'Quality Performance Indicators' have been specified by the Government to explicitly reflect users experience of services. The results can be viewed in the document below along with the comparisons with the other Shropshire authorities.
