The Coleham Head Project

This Coleham Head area was previously a rose bed the few roses left suffered from rose sickness.  The roses have been removed and the ground was prepared for replanting. 

On Thursday 23 February 2006 Daniel Kawczynski local MP visited Coleham Head.  Here he met with Margaret Thrower a long term supporter and committee member of Shrewsbury In Bloom.

They helped a cluster of community volunteers to plant up a new shrub bed with drought tolerant shrubs creating an arid planting theme to enhance the appearance of the area.

This project received the full support of the two local councillors Mansel Williams and Alan Townsend.  All the community and local residents were kept informed about the scheme through the Councillors newsletters.  Both Councillors fully support the landscape improvements to this key area of town.
