DAFFODIL DELIGHT FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN - SHREWSBURY IN BLOOM COMMUNITY PROJECT

Following Shrewsbury's success in the regional finals of the Heart of England Britain in Bloom Competition earlier this year the Shrewsbury in Bloom Committee purchased a large quantity of daffodil bulbs to be given to the town's junior schools.

Two members of the committee - Councillor Jackie Brennand and Councillor Joyce Allaway contacted schools in the town to offer free daffodils for their school grounds for this important Shrewsbury in Bloom community project. The bulbs were purchased using funds raised by commercial sponsorship, and all schools in the borough were eligible for free daffodils.
