We serve a population of just under 100,000 in the central part of the county of Shropshire.

We are in the West Midlands region of England, close to the Welsh border.

 

The council employs around 650 staff to deliver a wide range of services to the people of the Borough of Shrewsbury and Atcham and to a wider population beyond the borough boundary.

Our Council is led by 40 democratically elected councillors, serving 24 borough wards.

The mayor of Shrewsbury is elected from among the councillors each year.
