Private Landlord's Forum

Shrewsbury and Atcham has a buoyant private sector rental market with an excess of demand over supply.

The Council has developed good working relationships with many of the Letting Agents and private landlords operating in the borough. In September 2005, with assistance from the National Landlords Association we established a Landlords Forum and consultation group to help exchange information and work in closer partnership with private sector housing providers.

We envisage that over time the Council's support and input will act as a catalyst to a group of active landlords leading to the formation of a self-supporting body. Further meetings are scheduled during 2006 to develop the role of the forum to help improve the quality and status of the private rented sector in our area.
