Flooding in Shrewsbury

The Council is part of a Joint Action Group with Shropshire County Council, Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water.

The aims of the Plan are that the four organisations work in partnership and are committed to playing a full and constructive part in reducing the impact of flooding for the people of Shrewsbury.

At times of flood, help and advice can also be obtained from the Shrewsbury Flood Helpline.

The Council is supported by Flood Wardens who are a group of volunteers who will pass on flood warnings to the owners of affected properties who have registered their contact details. If you have not already registered contact 01743 281103.

Areas covered by flood wardens are: Coton Hill, Castlefields, Frankwell, Smithfield Road/Mardol, Wyle Cop/St. Julian's Friars/Victoria Avenue, Belle Vue/Coleham and Abbey Foregate/Underdale Road.
