Low energy bulbs benefit the environment in two ways (Compact fluorescent light bulbs use up to 75% less electricity than standard incandescent bulbs). They are ideal for areas where lights are left on for long periods of time as they last up to 8 times longer.

Recycling Process:

At the end of the CFLs life they potentially can be recycled, and both the mercury and phosphorus inside them can be recovered. At present there is not much in the way of recycling facilities.
