Perhaps take advantage of your local libraries supply of books instead of buying more. It would save you money too!

Share books with your friends and family members. Alternatively, a relatively new idea is to register your book(s) on a book sharing website such as www.bookcrossing.com and leaving it in a public place for somebody to pick up. Register it with the Bookcrossing website and you are given a unique ID number. Then just label the book and release it for someone else to read - give it to a friend, leave it on a park bench, donate it to charity, or simply "forget" it in a coffee shop. You can track its progress and see how many people get to share it.

British Heart Foundation and Oxfam provide recycling banks in recycling site in Shrewsbury. Both soft- and hard-backed books can be placed into the banks. They are regularly emptied and the books are taken to a sorting depot. Your books will be sold in Oxfam shops to raise money for Oxfam's work in over 70 countries, so please donate books that are in good, saleable condition. Alternatively books can be taken directly to second-hand book stores or charity shops within the borough. Book banks are located at Morrisons in Harlescott and Sainsbury's at Meole Brace. |
