Shrewsbury Colleges Co-location Planning Application-Committee Meeting

Release Date: 16/10/2008

The planning application for the co-location of the two Shrewsbury Colleges has generated a great deal of public interest and involvement. A decision on the planning application has been deferred because the Highway Agency required further information on the impact on the A5 trunk road. The Transport Assessment and Modelling information was received by the Council and available for viewing from the 1st October.

Because of the wide public interest on this planning application the Council intends to hold a special meeting of its Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee to debate and consider just this application.

A meeting of the Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee will be held on Monday 3rd November at the Shrewsbury Music Hall starting at 17.30. The Music hall can accommodate 300 members of the public.

Individual letters will be posted on the 24th October, first class, to all members of the public who wrote letters to the Council notifying them of the location, date and time of the Committee meeting. The committee agenda and report will be available on the Council’s web site to view from Saturday morning, the 25th and a hard copy available at the Council offices on the following Monday.

Any additional written representations from members of the public received by the Council between the publication of the Committee report and the meeting will be reported to the members of the Development Control and Environmental Protection Committee before the meeting.
